About the Job

Our client is seeking a full-time position for a Technical Project Manager

Pay Rate: Starting from $140k-$165k

Location Type: Onsite in Edmonton

Business Hours: Monday-Friday 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM EST or MST hours is acceptable


Role Description

The Technical Project Manager will oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of complex technical projects, ensuring alignment with business goals and timelines.

The role involves leading engineering teams through the full Software Development Life Cycle, including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, deployment, and post-implementation support.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and maintaining detailed project plans, schedules, and resource allocations
  • Leading Agile ceremonies (e.g., stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives) and supporting Scrum teams when required
  • Coordinating cross-functional teams, including developers, QA/testers, business analysts, and operations
  • Monitoring project progress, identifying and resolving risks, issues, and dependencies
  • Ensuring quality and adherence to project standards throughout the project
  • Facilitating communication with stakeholders, providing status updates, and managing expectations
  • Supporting process improvements, including Agile practices, testing strategies, and continuous delivery


Qualifications

  • Strong Project and Program Management skills to manage projects from inception to delivery
  • Experience in technical project execution, including software development, system integration, and testing coordination
  • Demonstrated team leadership abilities to motivate and guide diverse technical teams
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Analytical mindset to assess project performance, manage risks, and implement improvement opportunities
  • Proficiency in project management and collaboration tools (e.g., Jira, ADO, MS Project, Confluence)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field preferred
  • PMP, Certified Scrum Professional (CSP), or Agile certifications are nice to have
  • Proven ability to manage complex technical initiatives with multiple stakeholders and tight deadlines
